    Job Summary:
    You will work on our commercial and literary fiction and nonfiction lists, and report to a Marketing Manager.


    You will help see a book campaign through its entire life, from early stage (reading manuscripts and brainstorming marketing plans that include galley strategy, promotional material, online engagement, and advertising), right through to development and execution.

    You Are:

    •Extremely creative, AND you care about excellence of execution (the nitty gritty details of how to get things done).
    •Comfortable working with our large team of marketers, editors and designers, and authors, and can manage many administrative tasks at once (budget grids, work-back schedules, presentation decks, mailings, scheduling meetings, etc.).
    •Passionate about books (and the arts), and this shines through everything you do.  You keep on top of trends; your customer service and communication skills are impeccable.
    •Familiar with, or have worked in, the book industry, and have a publishing program education and/or a marketing background.
    •A strong communicator and collaborator, and will add value to our Corporate culture, with your “can do” attitude.



    Your Responsibilities Include:


    Author Brand Management – 35%
    Includes marketing plans from brainstorm through to execution, including:
    -Advertising and cross promotion plans
    -Setting goals and targets
    -Managing budgets
    -Producing material (ie. Advance Reader Copies, e-cards, bulletins, marketing decks, book covers)
    -Accountability (liaising with colleagues, authors and agents)


    Marketing Administration – 35%
    Maintaining a well-oiled machine, including:
    -Online Resource catalogue (Edelweiss)
    -In-book ads
    -Meetings, emails, research
    -Inputting marketing plans, department liaison, work-back schedules


    Marketing Materials– 20%
    Advance Reader Copies, Swag and Sales Presentations
    -Manage the production, design and copy
    -Coordinate quantities and distribution
    -Understand the strategy behind each project


    Digital and Social Media Strategy – 10%
    Includes content strategy, analytics, platform trends, digital advertising and BookClubbish blog posts as it relates to business development
